TOKYO — NEC Corporation announced today the launch of sales for the NOIF2500, a device capable of long distance transmission of uncompressed high vision video through up to 160 km of optical fiber, and ideally suited for broadcasters and telecommunications carriers.

The NOIF2500 converts digital video signals into optical signals that can be transmitted over long distances. Since video signals are not compressed with this transmission process, image deterioration is eliminated and high quality video is easily transmitted.
